Family Facing Hardship

I work for a local climbing gym. Although I am fortunate enough to be able to continue working during the current public health crisis, the janitorial staff that cleans and maintains our facility is not. With all of the uncertainty that we have all been facing these last few week, it is easy to get caught up in our own struggles and hardships. I know that I have personally struggled to find the answers in order to make ends meet now that my hours and pay have been reduced. Still, I feel blessed that the nature of my job means I can work remotely.
The gym I work for hires an external company to maintain and clean our facilities, which are quite spacious. The entire space is cleaned daily by just two people- a married couple who, like my own parents, immigrated to the United States seeking a better life for themselves and their child. As one of the few native Spanish speakers working at the gym, I've had a chance to learn about their lives and many of struggles that the couple faces on a regular basis. Although they are an older couple with a limited knowledge of English, they have managed to support themselves and their family over the years through incredible hard work. Every day they work hard, often going above and beyond what the gym asks them to do. They always check in with us to make sure they are providing the best service that they can. They are two of the hardest working and kindest people I have ever been fortunate enough to work alongside.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis, they have been out of work for multiple weeks now and are struggling to make ends meet. With no clue what the future holds and no ability to find remote work, they are uncertain what the future will hold. I am reaching out to my network in hopes that we can provide any relief possible for this incredible, hard-working family. I truly hope we can raise enough money to let them know that they have not been forgotten. If you can donate, please help to ensure that the vulnerable people in our community are not left behind.
