Hello, my name is Hosung, I am a seminarian, and studying at New Brunswick Theological Seminary, NJ.
I am ashamed to share these difficulties with people,
but I couldn't find any solutions myself and I humbly ask for your help.
I am an international student from Korea and this is my 9th year in the States. I had been experienced being a homeless for few months, had been in a court for eviction trial, and some times I was fasting for several days all because of financial issues. With God's grace, I have been servived and still alive. But at this point, I am really in a need of financial support.
With my current social status in America as a foreign student, I am not allowed to work outside, and also not eligible to apply for student loan. I've used to have financial support from my parents in Korea, but the church where my father serves as a senior pastor also has some financial issues, it became almost impossible to receive nothing from my parents.
When I was registering for this Fall 2015 semester I was applying for the structured payment plan which allows me to pay by installments. I'd payed part of the tuition, but I wasn't able to pay the rest, even after receiving the scholarship and an RCA student remission. My school sent me an email that I still have over 3,000 dollars of outstanding balance, thus, I am not able to complete this semester, and I can't even register for next semester.
Additionally, my car has blown out on my way to church on Sunday (Dec. 20) while I was driving on Turnpike. With God's mercy and grace, both my wife and I were not injured. My car was towed and I went to church by taxi. I had a conversation with a mechanic earlier Monday morning. He said that its transmission had totally blown out and some other parts of its power train has damaged a lot as well. It might not be fixed and better parts out.
My wife is pregnant and I will become a father in a month, but because of this financial difficulties I can't prepare for my going to be born son.
I will remember those helping hands forever, and will pay back what I have received through people to the people in needy.
I hope you can understand this rough writing. I am so nervous and embarrassed right now. Please remember my family in your prayers.
Thank you very much.
with Love in Christ,
Hosung
