I would like to reach out to you and ask you to make a donation for Nardos. Nardos lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and was diagnosed with severe kidney failure in 2012 at the age of 15. After being on dialysis for almost a year she was lucky that her father was willing to donate a kidney and to have people raised enough money for her kidney transplant in march 2013. This was done in Egypt because there were no possibilities for kidney transplantation in Ethiopia. Unfortunately, her body rejected her father's donated kidney after 8 months. This was partly due to the fact that Ethiopia was unable to provide her with the necessary aftercare. Since then she has been on dialysis 3 times a week for the last 6 years. In Ethiopia there is no health insurance and therefore the costs for medical treatments, dialysis and medicines are very expensive. So now it is not possible to save for a new operation. The regular doctor visits, medication and dialysis is becoming a huge financial burden for her family. Nardos’s physical condition is getting worse every day. And her being on dialysis year after year is causing her body to face other medical problems. Going to school or doing something fun is no longer there, a pity for a young, smart and cheerful girl of 22. A suitable donor has been found in the family. Unfortunately, the money is missing to perform a second transplant. Because time is running out, our goal as a family is to raise money for her potential kidney transplant and medical treatment abroad because in her case to have the kidney transplant in Ethiopia is impossible.
