My brother, Barry Harper, Deer Valley High School graduate, class of 2010, (Antioch CA) US Army, MP Veteran, where my brother proudly served our great nation before being honorably discharged after a motorcycle accident, lost his home and it's entire contents along with his cars, and his workshop filled with his tools during this devastating "Camp Fire", in Paradise CA. We are beyond blessed that my brother, and my 4 year old nephew safely made it off the ridge. Yet, now they are displaced and basically homeless as they try to figure out the next steps in rebuilding and replacing literally everything that they have worked so hard for. The morning of the fire, they had literally just moments to evacuate. Only being able to basically take a few important papers and the family dog. Everything else is a complete loss. Including their beloved cats, who were loved like family. Imagine every single item you own. Your unreplaceable photographs, such as your wedding day, the birth of your child, and the last pictures of a deceased loved one. Your Baby book of your only child, your high school letterman jacket, your military momentos, jewelry, and even just those special Christmas ornaments and family heirlooms and antiques. Every stitch of clothing and every splinter of furniture and the cars you paid off.. absolutely EVERYTHING IS GONE. This entire experience has taken such a toll on the entire community, as this is now described as the worst Californian fire in history. We know that the materialistic items can someday be replaced, the memories will fade, the tears will some day stop (hopefully anyway) at this time I'm asking everyone to please keep my brother, and my nephew in your heart and in your prayers. Winter is coming, it's getting colder. So many things are needed. My brother is a good man, a good father and he needs as much help as possible to get through this life changing traumatic experience. And to be able to provide some normalcy to his son. He has a heart of gold and would be the first to give you his last penny or the shirt off his back, but right now he's the one in need of your kindness and generosity. I thank everyone in advance for any donations and prayers. As this is a humbling time and embarrassing for him to ask for any help, but he desperately needs and deserves a helpful hand up!
