On January 19th our mom was rushed to the hospital for having difficulty breathing . Upon arrival it was clear she was in critical condition and was admitted to ICU. She was found to be COVID positive and placed on Bipap to help her breathe. She was also started on many steroids, antivirals, antibiotics and a multitude of medications to help her. She fought hard with the Bipap for a few days, but ultimately she needed to be intubated and placed in a medically induced coma on 1/24/22. Due to the hospitals visitation policy, we were only allowed to see her on Saturday after special approval for 5 minutes each. Family checked in on her multiple times a day, but each time came with difficult news. On 1/26/22, the doctor called with even worse news which was that she was found to have blue discoloration to her leg. After many tests they found her femoral artery was completely occluded and she had a large clot in her vein. Because of this her left leg was dying and "not salvageable". Given her current critical status, constant suffering and declining status, our only option was to transition her to comfort care. On 1/27/22, we went to a family meeting with the doctors to confirm that was the only option and unfortunately it was. She was transitioned to comfort care with her children by her side. We stayed with her until she passed peacefully at 7:13pm. Unfortunately, this was unexpected and very sudden. She leaves behind four children that would love to give her the celebration of life that she deserves. She was a mother who sacrificed her happiness to give her children the best life possible. We appreciate any donations to help us give her the best of the best and all that she truly deserves as a way of us showing our appreciation for her. Please do not feel obligated to donate as we appreciate prayers for her to rest in peace. We will keep updated with funeral arrangements and welcome her friends and family to join.
