Hi Friends,As some of you may know, my boy, Pierre, has been struggling with an excruciating amount of pain since Friday morning. We’ve been in and out of his doctors office and the ER running test after test and attempting to manage his pain. This morning 11/11/18, my boy is being admitted as we do not have the medication necessary to keep him comfortable at home. For those of you I have not had the chance to connect with - here’s a play by play: Thursday was a totally normal day for Pierre. He stayed home from work to snuggle with Cory in between snacks and trips to the park. Cory and I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody, came home, took Pierre out for a short walk and went to bed. In the middle of the night, he woke us up fussing and restless - which isn’t out of the ordinary if he has an upset stomach but come Friday morning, he was a completely different Pierre. He would scream bloody murder, cower and stay close to the floor. He wouldn’t move his head or even walk more than a couple steps. Completely petrified, I took him to the vet to be examined. He was given a shot to numb the pain and put on bed rest. He’s seen a few different veterinarians since Friday morning and after countless hours of these amazing veterinarians/angels putting their heads together - they have an idea of what’s going on with him. There is most likely a ruptured disk in his neck putting pressure on his spine. About three weeks ago, he was attacked by a pit-bull in the park - this is possibly related. It has left him unable to move, eat or drink. We will not know for sure until we can see a neurologist tomorrow/Monday morning when they evaluate and run an MRI. This is when I need to ask my friends and family for help. You probably know that Pierre is more than just a dog, he’s my child, my rock, a being bestowed upon me for reasons I was not yet aware of. He’s seen me through some of the most difficult times in my life - one of them being the passing of my father, Edi Roberti. Pierre was with my father in his last moments with us. He’s a beacon of positive energy and optimism that has shielded me from even myself at times. With that being said, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for this boy and I’m hoping to raise enough money for his MRI and his surgery. The estimated cost of the MRI and surgery is $8,000. I understand that this is a lot of money and that this decision may not make sense to everyone. This isn’t about me - it’s about the light and love Pierre brings into our worlds and letting that light continue to shine. Please feel free to reach out. The love and support has already gone a long way. We love you,Dad and PierrePierre has an Instagram: beardedfrenchie
