Caring for Kari
Donation protected
Dear Shelby county
Some of you may already know the story as the shooting was aired on the local news channels. A shooting took place just miles from Chelsea middle school after a troubled young man pulled out a gun and pointed it in the direction of his aunt (kari) and uncle (Brad). Kari was shot In the abdomen and leg and Brad was shot in the leg. Karis injuries caused her to loose part of her small intestines and a kidney. This tragic 10 minute dispute has left this family questioning what will life look moving forward. The road to recovery looks long for Kari and taking care of herself is not at the forefront of her mind.
Kari and Brad are just like many of us, working 2 jobs trying to provide for their family. They share 3 vibrant children. Khloe the youngest at 7 was born with Arthrogyposis Multiple Congintia (ACM). Khloe leads a rewarding life, however the struggles to complete basic tasks like getting dressed and tying her shoes or eating a meal or brushing her hair remain a challenge yet to be conquered. Colton (10) and Wade (14) both enjoy being with their family on game nights, school, internet gaming and their outdoor family hikes/walks. All of their children are hard working whether at school or home. Their oldest son Wade recently took on a job for extra spending money.
My prayer for you and this family is that you might find it in your heart to donate any amount you can to help ease the burden of hospital bills and time away from work. Any little bit helps and I know this family will be very appreciative.
Sincerely,
A Chelsea neighbor
