Sophie's Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
Last night, my beloved pet Sophie suddenly began shaking uncontrollably and was clearly struggling to breathe. She was extremely lethargic and was leaking a concerning amount of abnormal discharge. Seeing her in such distress was unbearable. I called the vet and was told to take her to the emergency room. There, they diagnosed her with a life-threatening infection of the womb called pyometra. Pyometra is a very serious condition caused by the womb filling with pus. If left untreated, it can lead to kidney failure, toxemia, dehydration and, in some cases, death. They informed me that she would need to stay overnight for observation in addition to requiring surgery.br />This unexpected illness could not have come at a more challenging time financially, as I've been out of work due to covid for most of the year. Sophie is my best friend and closest companion. She helped me throughout the most difficult times of my life, from getting sober to losing one of my closest friends very unexpectedly over the holidays. I would not have made it through this pandemic without her. She saved my life and I’m trying to do everything to give her the best one. This is a last resort and very difficult for me to ask, but I would be endlessly grateful to anyone capable of contributing to her medical bills.
