Help with terminal patient care ❤️

Hi my name is Jessica Johnson & I’m fundraising for my family. My husband Sirron has stage 4 metastasis colon cancer that has spread to his lungs. He was diagnosed in 2021 and has fought a long battle these past several years. Sirron is, unfortunately, starting to loose this battle. He is loosing all he had left in him. Me and our children watch him suffer in pain each and every day. It’s the worst thing to witness, especially when it’s someone you love.

Im fundraising because cancer has hit my family hard and it’s getting worse as time goes by. Sirron can’t get out of bed for the most part, he can’t sit due to a tumor in his pelvis that has more than doubled in size. They tried radiation but it seemed to do more harm than to help him. The nerves are all damaged causing him even more pain. I have been taking him to appointments now because he can’t drive. It’s now getting to the point where I have to take more time off to be home & help him. I am exhausting my vacation time. I am already struggling to pay bills with just my income. Sirron was the caretaker for the kids when they were little so there’s a small SSI check he gets monthly. It doesn’t even cover one week of groceries. He did side jobs to help but he can’t drive anymore so that stopped. I’m falling apart financially & emotionally. If anyone had to watch a loved one go through this then you know what it’s like. To have them randomly break down in tears because they just want to give up is heart breaking. To see a strong man break down like this, it is just horrible to watch. It’s horrible to see my kids watch it. We owe the oncologist money and may have to switch to another one if we don’t start paying it. The co pays are outrageous because he has so many appointments. I’ve never had to choose groceries over bills and I’m finding myself in that situation every week now. I tried applying for second jobs but no one calls me back. I don’t even know how I will do a second job because I have the kids to worry about and he can’t do anything anymore. He needs me to help him all of the time. He can’t even shower on his own.

I just need to catch up my household bills and have some money so I can take more time to take care of him. I can not get evicted, loose my electric or hot water but it’s getting closer and closer to that point. I don’t want my kids to suffer anymore than they already are. They sit at home with a sick Dad and a mom that works all of the time. It’s a sad situation.

I pray one day they will have a cure for this horrible thing called cancer that tears apart so many families. It is truly draining emotionally, financially and physically for the person going through it and the closest people around them. Have a blessed day and thank you for reading our story.
