Jerry, Kareem, Gerald, Eric and Suzie have graciously and lovingly served as the housing staff of Alpha Tau Omega for many years now. They have looked after the chapter and provided for its members at each and every opportunity; our staff has helped us tackle everything from feeding 200 mouths 3 times a day to philanthropy events and recruitment week set-up. Our chapter wouldn't be able to function without these outstanding individuals and their relentless commitment to helping us operate at our greatest potential.

In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, their jobs have been suspended and their incomes interrupted. Because of the university's recent shift to an online curriculum, the chapter has suspended the collection of dues from its members. The overhead costs associated with the chapter house have tied up the vast majority of the chapter's funds, leaving us no way to pay our remarkable staff. Their employment through Alpha Tau Omega has yet to qualify for Coronavirus relief programs, leaving them in a worse situation than many Americans.

The urgency of this cause is accelerated by a health crisis; Jerry recently suffered from a stroke and was whisked away to a hospital in Memphis. After recovery, his life has been permanently altered by the loss of his ability to work. Jerry has been transitioned into an assisted living program, which will allow him to continue on with the support he now needs. The healthcare and living expenses tied to this development have further exacerbated Jerry's financial situation. Jerry is loved by many, including his grandchildren and the many faces he has impacted during his time at ATO.

The money raised through this campaign will be given to our housing staff, so that their discomfort during these trying times could be lessened. The money will also be applied toward Jerry's new healthcare and living expenses. Any amount helps, and would be greatly appreciated.
