Gage’s Ride
On 6-21-2021 on Fort Campbell Blvd, one of Clarksville’s very own, Gage Deatherage, was involved in a motorcycle collision with another vehicle. Gage is a 28-year-old father, to a beautiful little boy that he simply adores, he works full time at Mid-South Motoplex as a motorcycle, ATV, Side x Side, and Sea-Doo mechanical technician. Gage loves riding...four wheels, two wheels, if it has wheels, he likes them turning! Gage is also a former Marine, but you know the old saying -- Once a Marine, always a Marine. Gage is a very passionate man, he is passionate about his son, his job, his hobbies, and the people he loves. It does not matter if Gage has his last $5 in his pocket, if he knows you need it more than he does, he is going to give it to you, that is just who he is. As unfortunate as the circumstances are, Gage is surrounded by love, well-wishes, prayer, and kind souls which we are eternally grateful for. At the time of the collision, we were told that there were several military personnel who witnessed the collision and stopped and did what they do best, serve and protect. Before EMS could arrive, the soldiers kept Gage still and calm, and put a makeshift tourniquet over his wounds to best stabilize him while waiting for assistance. The driver of the other vehicle held his hand and waited for help to arrive. Gage sustained many external injuries and will be recovering for an extended time. Gage is currently in critical care where he will be for at least the next week, as he is heavily sedated to keep his pain from the injuries manageable. He sustained compound fracture to his right femur, his right radius and ulna, 2 fractured vertebras, a broken ankle, two broken fingers, road rash on his left foot, and head injuries and lacerations, even though he was wearing his helmet. The family is currently waiting for results of more possible injuries in his other arm as well. During this time Gage will be off of work and with no kind of insurance in place for short term or long-term disability. We are trying to raise money to assist him and his family through this very difficult time. Things that the donations will cover include, but are not limited to, medical expenses and procedures, any and all necessary equipment for rehabilitation, as that is the main goal, on-going bills such as rent, utilities, etc. and money for necessities for himself, and his son. We do not know how long or hard his road to recovery is, but we will update everyone throughout this journey the best we can. Thank you so much for your time, and any and all donations you can make, it is very appreciated on behalf of his family, and we know that Gage will thank you from the bottom of his heart for the outpouring of love and generosity at this difficult time. If you cannot or wish not to donate at this time, please throw up a prayer, or send your best wishes, nothing is too little. For more information about making cash or direct donations to the family please contact Gage’s wife Shauna Deatherage on Facebook as we cannot share a number on go fund me.
Thank you!
