Beautiful Ole was born with a rare congenital condition called 'Microtia' meaning small or no ear and 'Anotia/Atresia', meaning no ear canals. Put simply, Ole's ears didn't form in utero and he was born without ears. As his inner ears (cochleas) work, he currently wears a bone conducting headband hearing aid.
His amazingly loving and supportive family want the very best chance for Ole's development and have mapped out a plan for him to receive life changing surgery. Performed only in America, this complicated medical procedure will give Ole the gift of ears and potentially ear canals. However, Ole's surgery for his ears and ear canals alone will cost $150,000. This is in addition to travel and living expenses whilst in the USA and loss of income for Ole's parents whilst they remain in the USA for approximately 3 months.
