Hello, my name is Brad. About four years ago, I had an emergency fasciotomy due to an injury I received while in the military. That was the beginning of what has become a neverending nightmare. During the surgery, the saphenous, superficial peroneal, and deep peroneal nerves were maliciously traumatized. Over the next three years, I underwent treatment including several painful surgeries. None of them worked. I have developed CRPS which is considered one of the most painful diagnoses a person can receive. The muscle injury caused a build-up of toxins that has led to stage three kidney disease. With each failed attempt to correct the damage, the hope that I would ever feel normal again grew dimmer. Eventually, I was forced to retire from the military. I eventually pleaded with surgeons to remove my leg from the knee down out of desperation for some relief. A few weeks ago the surgeon said I would not be able to have my leg removed. Then he mentioned a group that he thought would be able to help me resume a normal life. The Hanger Clinic in Gig Harbor, Washington, provided me with a solution. They specialize in helping people with CRPS. Currently, they are the only place in the world that offers what I need. It is called an exosym. Instead of removing my leg, which comes with a host of possible complications, they would build a skeleton over my leg that will remove weight from my leg and redistribute it to my hip. Their success rate is over 98%. This procedure is not covered by insurance. The cost is currently more than I can cover at this time. I appreciate you taking the time to consider donating to my cause. I also appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all!
