Hi, my name is Maya. I’m a 17-year-old fencer who is ranked 2nd in U20s for Great Britain and current national champion also in U20s, and I’ve been selected for an amazing opportunity to travel to compete in the European Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia and the World Championships in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Fencing has been such a big part of my life since I was 8 years old and my family have been supporting me since the beginning. However, costs of flights, accommodation and competition fees start to add up. I really would like to help them by easing some of the financial stresses involved in making these trips possible.

I also try my best to give back to fencing by coaching and reffing upcoming fencers at my club.

Competing at the European and World Championships would be invaluable opportunity for me, and I hope to learn and gain as much experience as possible.
