Help with Rusty's Vet Bill
Donation protected
Hi everyone..
We rescued Rusty from Dogs Trust 10 years ago when he was just 18 months old.
Rusty was our fur baby before our children came along. He was my safety blanket for when I was going through PTSD and my survival buddy when I needed help with my mental health.
The children were absolutely besotted with him along with all our neighbours children.
Sadly last year he got kicked in the side of the leg and this flared his arthritis up that we knew nothing about. Since that day he had inflammatory tablets for a week and daily had been having joint supplements to help with his arthritis.
The last two weeks Rusty hadn't been himself, he'd gone off his treats, wouldn't even help himself to food that had been dropped by the children and had gone off his food. He'd stopped playing with his favourite bone too! He was constantly shaking too.
I took him to the vets and was told it was likely his arthritis flared back up so gave me some inflammatory tablets. He took them and seemed to perk up.
Then in the morning of Thursday 18th June, we noticed there was alot of blood on the kitchen floor. We thought at first it was coming from his mouth and later realised it was actually a nose bleed that wasn't stopping! Got him to the vets and they thought it could be his teeth, so was given antibiotics and they took some blood. He then came home but his nose continued to bleed, every 10mins I was mopping the floor. I rung the vets back with my concerns, the vet said he'd lost 2 kilos since his last visit which was concerning. I took him back after lunch and they sedated him and took some x-rays. That afternoon we was given the worst news!
Our Rusty had a Tumour in his head and it was too aggressive to treat, so had to make the hard decision and have him put to sleep.
I hate having to ask for help but with the cost of living gone up, being self employed and my partner unemployed, the cost of the vet bill is just alot of money for me to put together on my own.
Included in the vet bill is his consultation, antibiotics, sedative, 2 x-rays, to be put to sleep & be cremated.
It's alot to ask I know.. but every £1 helps.
Thank you for reading and taking the time to donate or/and share.
