My name is Basil Romanco. I created when it would have been easier to disappear. I carried my work in bags and in memory, believing that if I stayed faithful to my voice, something honest would survive.

In the middle of uncertainty, grief, and displacement, I chose not to abandon myself. I wrote when it was uncomfortable. There were nights when I had no bed, no room, and nowhere to be. I slept outside, moved between shelters, borrowed corners of the world where I could rest my head, and learned how heavy loneliness can become when it stays too long.

That belief became my poetry book, Diaries of the Soul. A raw, intimate collection born from lived experience, loss, reflection, and endurance. Many who have read it have told me they cried, laughed, sat in silence, and felt seen. That alone made every night worth it.

Alongside the book, I made a documentary that captures my journey as it truly was; unpolished, vulnerable, and real. A record of a man choosing and faith over despair.

This fundraiser is not about charity for someone who gave up. It is about support for someone who kept going.

I am asking for assistance to help me stand firmly on my feet again. To secure stability, continue my creative work, and build a future where my art can keep reaching people who feel forgotten, unseen, or worn down by life.

I struggled. I am still struggling.

But I never gave up on myself.
