As many of you may know Shane Brug, now just 29 years old, was born with a birth defect that left him with only one badly damaged kidney. That kidney has surpassed all odds but is now failing. A kidney transplant is his only hope. Shane has been amazingly strong and optimistic while on the transplant list for the past year. And after 7 months of testing, my cousin Jimmy Strube has been approved as a donor. We are incredibly thankful to Jimmy for this gift. Shane received a call this week and if all goes well, his transplant could happen mid-November.
However, there is just one hurdle left - Shane must prove that he is financially able to protect his transplanted kidney. To demonstrate this, he must raise an amount equal to his insurance’s maximum out of pocket plus twenty percent of the projected costs of his anti-rejection medications for one year. This amounts to approximately $12,000 for the first year. Can you help him reach this goal?
