This is what’s she’s going through, in her own words:

“This journey has been one filled with surprises and not good ones. It started with extreme exhaustion, shortness of breath, and other abnormal symptoms that wouldn't go away. Primary care quickly passed the case to a Gynecologist. Nobody suspected cancer, even the Gynecologist was in shock, but that's the diagnosis. The second opinion/confirmation came from Mayo Clinic. Stage 2 endometrial cancer. Referrals were made to a Gynecologic Oncologist. Scans showed no spread, the only good news but it wouldn't hold. Total hysterectomy, at age 40, was the next step. The next surprise came surgery when the surgeon found the cancer had indeed spread. The cancer was upgraded to Stage 3a. The words "chemo" and "radiation" were thrown into the ring. The depth and breadth of treatment wasn't realized until the cancer was upgraded yet once again by a group of consulting oncologists, taking it to Stage 3c. This cancer is aggressive and tenacious. Multiple chemo drugs will be used along with a few different types of radiation. Facing chemo and radiation is scary in and of itself. Try facing this being single, one income, and a mountain of medical bills with more to come. Work will be restricted because of treatment, so income will be light. The anxiety of needing to pay bills/rent only hinders recovery. Treatment will last more than 7 months. “
