Help Biggie Walk Again
Donation protected
Biggie is our 5-year-old French bulldog. He is such a funny, sweet boy who loves everyone and is so full of life.
On January 7th, after being let out in the yard to do his business, Biggie began to show pain and was hesitant to walk and be active as he normally would. Later that night, he suddenly lost feeling in his back legs, and could not put weight on them. When he tried to walk, he could only drag his back legs.
Immediately we rushed him to the emergency vet. The specialists ran tests and Biggie was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) - this occurs when a disc in the back slips into the spine, damaging the nerves and causing an inability to walk. Unfortunately, IVDD is a common disease in French Bulldogs and can come on very suddenly. He went from being in great health to back leg paralysis in less than 24 hours.
Although he was only given a ~20% chance to walk again, we are doing everything we can to treat him and we wish to see a full recovery one day.
Our best hope to treat this awful disease is with physiotherapy, chiro, and acupuncture.
In the past week or so, after the initial chiro sessions, our boy is gaining slight reflexes in his back legs and showing positive signs every day. He is no longer in pain and we can see his personality coming back.
Any and all GoFundMe donations will be going towards Biggie's physical therapy treatments for the first 6 months following his diagnosis. This includes Physiotherapy + Laser Therapy, Acupuncture, and Chiropractor Sessions.
We are immensely grateful for any donations and any positive energy that we can put towards our little man's recovery. Thank you for your time and love.
