Dear friends,
My name is Maryam, and I would like to share the story of my dear aunt Malalai with you.
In 2013, my Matura thesis took me to Afghanistan, my beautiful homeland.
I was finally able to see my family and my beloved aunt Malalai again. A highlight of my life. Malalai was healthy, radiated vitality, and had big dreams. She was a teacher, happily married, and the proud mother of two sons.
Then fate turned: In 2017, her oldest son was visiting his father in the hospital when a terrorist attack took place there. Her husband survived, but her son was killed.
As if that weren’t enough, Malalai was diagnosed with cancer. Despite treatment, an MRI showed that the cancer had progressed to a critical stage. The only option left is surgery, which must be performed soon.
Unfortunately, Malalai and her family cannot afford an operation. This is why I am trying to raise the necessary $5,000 through crowdfunding here. Every single $ counts.
Please help so that Malalai can soon recover.
Thank you very much for your support!
