Sitka needs surgery: Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy!

Sitka has severely injured his hip. On Thursday, 7/3, he didn't greet/come to the door the way he usually does when Iztla comes home from work. The next morning, he had an obvious limp, was dragging his bottom half, and could barely move. What caused his injury isn't known as she was at work from 2 pm-11 pm. He was continuously monitored at home because income-based animal hospitals were closed for the 4th and was brought to Mission Animal Hospital as soon as they opened the next day. He got x-rays and bloodwork. There was a clear split in his leg; he is going to need surgery within the next 2 weeks and is on a lot of painkillers in the meantime. After his surgery, he'll have a 2-4 week recovery before he'll be back to his old self again.

He is a super cuddly, happy, loving boy, and is only just over a year old. He loves nothing more than to cuddle and play with his sister, Juniper; they have the sweetest relationship, and Juni has been so worried about him. Iztla has tried to apply to a few grants she is qualified for but has not been accepted. In the hopes of minimizing his suffering and getting the surgery soon, she’s turned to GoFundMe to spread the message and save her lil guy.
