Helping Phil Hear Again

Hello everyone! Phil has been one of the most influential people on my life, as well as many of yours, I'm sure. He has always been a strong, loving, caring, and inviting man and I couldn't imagine our lives without him. I think doing something wonderful for him is in order. Think of all the differences he has made in your life! For me, he's always protected me, he's given me opportunities I would otherwise not have had, and he gives the best advice! He only wants the best for everyone he knows, believes in us, and rejoices in seeing us happy. He's a true family man.
He's worked so hard his whole life. Never complained. Putting food on the table and clothes on his kids.He has put himself in places we cannot and do not even want to imagine just because it was the right thing to do. Let's give him back something he lost along the way. His hearing!
Damaging his hearing while earning a living and making this world a better place was a small price to pay in his mind, I'm sure. But it's not. Did you know that people with hearing loss earn less money than those that have healthy hearing? It's true. Lack of communication skills set people apart. How about that hearing loss is directly linked to dementia? Your hearing travels from sound waves to your outer ear. Then to your eardrum which transfers the sound through your cochlea by fluid. The fluid rushes across tiny hairs and the hairs wiggle. When they wiggle, nerves at the base transmit those signals to the brain. What we cannot hear does not get transmitted. Not using those brain cells due to inactivity causes dementia. I do not ever want grandpa to know dementia a day in his life. But he has been living with loss for years and it'll continue to get worse. Unless he gets help.
