Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.
As you may or may not know, Deano suffered an ischaemic stroke at home on 1st October.
lucky enough, his neighbour heard the commotion and broke in and he was taken to Watford hospital stroke unit.
Deano has lost all movement & feeling on the left hand side and his pre frontal cortex was impacted meaning the every day thought processes can be exhausting for him.
Deano’s recovery so far has been quite good and he is very positive & determined.
Each Day Deano is working really hard in physio & occupational therapy but it’s a long journey and it’s still unknown how much feeling & movement he’ll regain.
Returning to work is not something he can think about at the moment, although we know he misses it.
Now That Deano
can eat again, Deano will be shortly moved to a rehab centre for intensive physio & OT to help him gain as much movement and independence as possible.
At the moment, he just has to take it day by day.
Deano’s 2 boys, Lucas - 15 and Dexter - 3 are obviously his main concern and it has been very hard on them, but his positive attitude is a real help for Lucas.
Dexter is a too young to grasp what’s going on & just wants his dad back to normal.
Deano’s sister Sharron and Delhi’s family are amazed at his determined attitude
I’ve been told not lost his humour or his sharp tongue when someone pisses him off!
When I first herd about this and spoke
To Deano, I offered to help as I know how proud he is and I also know the financial difficulties this would bring to an already very challenging time in his life.
I’ve known Deano 20 years and would consider him to be one of the staples of the industry we work in, a gentleman (sometimes) , a brother, an inspiration and some one I look up to and from an early age I have had the upmost love and respect for him and glad that I’ve had the pleasure of having in my life and sharing many stages with him and as a friend.
Deano is now in a hospital bed for the next 4-6 months or so, has to learn to walk again and get full movement back.
Being the proud man he is, when I asked him about setting this up to help him and the family out he didn’t want to.
But after a bit of convincing I managed to get his approval.
Not being able to earn for 6 months then not being able to be back at full earning capacity is going to cause a lot of hardship that could be avoided if we can all club together .
I could not imaging being in that position and I would really appreciate the help if I was .
So in which case I would like to raise a minimum of 5k, hopefully a lot more to help Deano out and take some pressure off.
I’m asking for every one to dig deep and do the right thing and help him out.
If 99 more of you out there could stick in £50 each or 200 of you stick in £25 we would be able to hit the target.
Deano will be able to withdraw from the funds raised at any time.
I have set this up on behalf of Deano and along with His sister Sharon.
As I’m based in Republic of Ireland, the account has chosen Euro as default, so I have set he target at €6000 for the campaign
It’s not a great amount of money to part with to ensure that Deano dose not have to worry about looking after his basic needs while he faces such a big challenge.
Please put your hands in your pockets and help out a brother.
You know he would do the same for you and at some point in some way more than likely has.
Let all help Deano her back on top !
