In August 2022, Ashley’s life was completely ruined after a former student of hers made a false allegation against her. Ashley was charged with one of the most heinous charges anyone can face- and had her life torn apart.

Without any proper investigation completed by DRPS and wrongfully having her role as a mother taken from her by Children’s Aid, Ashley was arrested and charged- losing her dream job and being labelled a “pedophile”.

Ashley and her family spent the next 14 months fighting these allegations, alone without any support from Ashley’s former employer or union. Spending thousands of dollars on lawyers, fighting to survive off of now only one income with 5 children to support.

Ashley’s life was ruined. Torn apart. Her reputation forever tarnished. Destroyed. All because of a statement. A statement that on November 24 was found to be false- with no evidence to back it up or support it. Ashley was found not guilty and acquitted of all charges after a 5 day trial.

Now Ashley struggles to figure out how to rebuild. How to move forward from here. Her name and reputation destroyed. Not knowing if she will ever be able to work again.
