Milford’s Road To Rehabilitation
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim, and I am making all possible efforts to raise money to help my husband have the chance to improve his quality of life.
In September 2022, my husband Milford, was the victim of a traumatic accident. He was a motorcyclist on his way back home when he was struck by a car.
This accident led to a fight for his life and a lengthy hospital stay with several surgeries, and more to come. Prior to this accident, Milford was a pillar in our family and community, a city employee who worked in the schools and volunteered his time coaching youth basketball. He was actively involved in our children’s sports/activities. He loved family outings and fishing, especially deep sea fishing! Milford looked forward to father-son deep sea fishing trips with our oldest two sons. Milford also enjoyed helping others, from fixing someone’s leaky faucet to building a deck, and even fixing a neighborhood kid’s bike. He took great pride in his work, even inside the school building.
As a result of this accident, he is enduring life changing adjustments. My husband is now a double amputee who is working hard to get acclimated to his new life and ways of doing things. We, as a family, are pushing through the daily challenges sprung upon us so suddenly. The physical, emotional and financial struggle is real. Rehabilitation is a real eye-opener, and the medical expenses are mounting up quickly.
This hurt runs deep. Our faith remains strong. We acknowledge that it truly takes a village, and our family is so thankful for all the love and support received from day one. As we continue on this journey, we have no doubt that with your help too, Milford will walk again along with lots of other things he loves to do.
Life has taught me that a closed mouth won’t get fed. I’m asking for your help with my husband’s road to rehabilitation which includes medical expenses (expected and unexpected) and a Platform Lift to help him safely get in and out of our home.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. - The Penn Family
