Jeff's Fight Against Stage 4 Kidney Cancer

Hi! I have created this page to support my brother in-law Jeff Manzanares and my sister Andrea Manzanares.
On September 27, 2018 our lives were turned upside down. Jeff was officially diagnosed with Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma Stage 4, Grade 2; in simpler terms Kidney Cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes. At 30 years old, Jeff will spend the rest of his life fighting against these cancer cells, as there is currently no cure.
On November 14, 2018 Jeff had radical nephrectomy surgery. His team of doctors were able to remove his whole left kidney and one infected lymph node. His right kidney is still strong and has not been affected by the cancer! Jeff still has many infected lymph nodes that were not removed because it was too risky and unsafe. From here we are still hopeful to find a treatment plan for the future! Jeff is currently recovering well in the ICU. He is being monitored closely and is surrounded by his loved ones.
Our family has a long road ahead of us. Jeff’s positive attitude has inspired us all to keep our heads up during this difficult time. He has shown us great strength throughout this whole journey. In hopes to show Jeff he is not alone in his fight we are turning to you for help. Jeff will most likely not be going back to work anytime soon. We truly appreciate all your prayers and positive thoughts.
We will also use this page to update all friends and family of any changes throughout Jeff’s journey.
