A Young Mother's Final Wish
Donation protected
I am trying to raise funds for my sister, Jennifer Booth. First let me give you a little background on the Booth Family: Jennifer and Larry married on April 30th of 2007, right before Larry left for a year on his deployment to Iraq. Larry is now an Army Combat Veteran. They have two children Hailey Madison is 12 and Kevin Austin is 7.
In February of 2015, Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 27 years old. She went through treatment and underwent a double mastectomy. Jenny was told the cancer was in remission but unfortunately in January of this year, 2018, she found out that the cancer has progressed. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Although we prepared for another fight, Jenny is rapidly losing her battle with this horrible disease………
Jenny has exhausted all of the traditional cancer treatments and is currently weighing the pros and cons of a trial medication that will pretty much ensure that she will be bedridden and in the hospital for much of the rest of her days. Her immune system will soon be in a very fragile state making it difficult for her to be up and around creating lasting memories for her children before they lose their beloved mother at such a young age.
Jenny has consulted with OHSU's finest Oncology doctors and recently got a second opinion. Both doctors have agreed that even if Jenny goes through with the trial medication, she is only expected to make it another 6 months to 1 year.
The Booth family has never been on a family vacation due to only having 1 source of income, as Larry works to support his family, Jenny has mostly been a stay at home Mom and had to leave her part time job to take care of her health. Jenny’s dying wish is to take her children on their first and final family vacation with their mother.
With the high expenses of treatment on top of household bills, the Booth family manages to make ends meet, but they have little funds to put towards a very much deserved vacation. Also, due to cancer being a pre-existing condition, she is disqualified from purchasing a life insurance plan to ensure that her final expenses are paid. This leaves a huge financial burden and stressor that Jenny nor Larry deserve.
Any amount that you can donate to help relieve this financial burden will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for helping me to make my little sister’s dying wish come true, and to help create a lasting memory with their Mother for Hailey and Kevin.
