Scott, a hardworking father & grandfather, suffered a life-altering brain injury at work and was failed by worker’s comp. He’s $7k short on his mortgage and property taxes.
Scott was working a full time job as well as part time at The Raven for years, but had recently left his full time job and was due to start somewhere else in a few weeks, but the injury made that impossible.
He is a loving "papa" to 5 grandkids, a beloved dad to 4 adult kids. He loves to cook and work with his hands and is one of those rare people who can build anything.
Scott was injured while working as a bouncer in May 2023 and suffered a serious brain injury. Brain injuries are complex and life altering and Scott's is no different. He hasn't been able to work since his injury due the many health issues including vertigo and excruciating headaches. He is now close to losing everything, especially since worker's compensation cut off assistance months ago and are lying to avoid paying him.
Despite multiple previous concussions WSCC chose to not get him immediate help. To this day he has not even received an MRI and signs of possible seizures and a brain bleed were completely ignored. The lack of quick, or really any, treatment is the main reason he is still unable to work
Because his only job at the time he was injured was part-time, the financial assistance he received each month was extremely limited and didn't even entirely cover food and utilities, much less a mortgage.
Even with as much help as close friends and family have managed, he's been slipping further and further into debt.
While this fundraiser won't get him out of debt, it will give him some breathing room and relieve some of the stress, which is extremely important to his attempts at recovery.
Any donation or share is greatly appreciated.
