Alissa was out on NYE being a designated sober driver for her friends when the unthinkable happened. 30 minutes after the ball dropped she was walking around a house and tripped and fell into a hole which sent her face first into the corner of a cement wall. This caused her nose to break and shatter in 5 places, 3 large facial lacerations, 3 teeth nearly knocked out and 4 broke in half leaving her with 24 stitches and surgeries to come.  She was taken by ambulance to St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell then transported in ambulance due to facial trauma to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Unfortunately, Alissa’s medical bills are very unexpected and not all of her facial reconstructive surgery and dental work will be covered by insurance.  There is a very high chance the teeth may die and have to be completely replaced, each tooth is going to cost between $3,000-$5,000. Alissa and her parents Shawn & Greta will be taking many trips back to Strong in Rochester for further check up of her injuries and surgery. These long trips are going to be very costly. 

Alissa works 2 jobs and is scheduled to graduate her college degree February of 2019. She now will be unable to work and struggle her last month and a half of her college career. Due to these possible surgeries, recovery time, and the weekly  doctor/dental appointments.
