UPDATE:
Dayana and Elvis have learned that the insurance coverage for their rented home does not cover any of the tenant’s personal property, such as furniture, electronics, clothing, etc. When everything you own and lovingly collect over many years is gone in a matter of moments, and you are only left with some clothes, it creates tremendous stress and hardship. Any help will be much appreciated!
On the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Dayana and Elvis Serrano experienced a heartbreaking loss when their family home in Peabody was destroyed by a fire. While the fire was devastating, we are incredibly grateful that Dayana and Elvis, and their two young children escaped unharmed.
Currently, their family is living in temporary housing as they face the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
Dayana works as a Cancer Patient Navigator for Mass General Brigham Community Health and was previously a medical assistant for the MGB Community Care Van program, where she selflessly dedicated herself to ensuring our patients in the community receive the care and support they need. Elvis is a lovely, hardworking father and loyal friend and who wouldn't pass an opportunity to lend a hand to those who needed it.
Now, in their time of need, it’s our turn to rally around their family and offer support so that they can begin to restore what was lost.
Please consider contributing whatever you can to help Dayana and Elvi recover from this tragedy. Your generosity will assist with essential needs, replacing lost belongings, and providing stability as they begin to rebuild their home and their lives.
Let’s show Dayana and Elvis that their friends in the community stand with them — united, supportive, and ready to help.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
