Disabled Gulf War Veteran

Disabled Veteran needs help with living expenses while waiting for disability for Gulf War Syndrome .

Good day, my name is Brian Pittaway.

I am a Gulf War Veteran who served our great nation in operation Desert Sheild and Desert Storm both in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

While I have experienced lasting effects from the War, from nerve gas, oilwell fires, anti-nerve agent pills or other environmental hazards, I have always been active and able to support myself and my family. 

Three years ago, that all changed, my health started to go down hill, without explanation. At first I thought it was my job cuasing the turn in health. During a two year period of time, I went from working 70hrs a week at a physically demanding job to being fired, basically because I could no longer meet the demands of the job.

I have now been unemployed for close to a year and a half, without income.

The doctors have been poking and prodding me for the last three years and don't seem any closer to a diagnosis or helping most of my symptoms. The more I learn the more it looks like Gulf War Syndrome but they aren't willing to admit it.

In the meantime I have taken out and spent my entire retirement nest egg just to get to this point.

Today, the money is gone and there are no programs to help people who Really need disability, wile they wait on the lengthy government process.

We have run out of options for paying our bills and at this point I am totally unable to work due to my service related illness. 

All of the soldiers that were deployed to the middle east were volunteers and put their lives and health on the line to protect our American ideals and freedoms. We did this so that others could stay comfortable and prosper, while we did what needed to be done.

Too often today we pay lip service to supporting the troops but in actuality we do nothing to support them other than buying a magnet or sticker with No proceeds going to the vets or troops. So if you Sopport the troops Please find a local Veteran or military family in need and help in any way you can.
