For the Love of Addie

I love this picture of Addie. She usually keeps such a terrific outlook, and is full of life and joy. I wrote this update while I was watching Iola and Ollie play, as Addie was en route to the Emergency Department after she passed out, fell and hurt her leg. We are so thankful she did not break any bones, but it requires a trip to UVA to see if any damage was done to ligaments, tendons etc. Next week Gwen and Addie return to New York City for more visits including the needed sleep study, a visit with Dr. Greenfield and possibly more - hopefully hearing from genetics, and when surgery will happen. Gwen likely will be in NYC for 5-10 days. For this trip the need is $1200. We are so humbled and thankful for you all- your generous giving to help dear Addie receive the care she desperately needs right now, and for your prayers- please keep praying! We are always looking for Virginia possibilities for doctors, neurosurgeons etc, to offset the costs of traveling to NYC for her care. At this point, we have found no one in VA. Gwen also, anticipating surgery in the near future, is looking into foundations that help with these costs. Gwen recently connected with a mother whose daughter passed away from untreated complications of Chiari. It is very sobering, and reminds us why we are pushing for this care for Addie right now.
