Alex is a gentle, kind, hardworking man. He works for my gardener, and has been my gardener for 5 years. On the morning of Sunday, December 9th, Alex was trimming a very tall palm tree. Despite having safety equipment on, he fell. It was about a 50-60 foot drop. Alex was rushed to the trauma center and is in critical condition. He fractured his spine, broke his right leg, hip, nearly all his ribs, (9 on the right side, 7 on the left), punctured his lung, and caused damage to his liver and kidneys. He needed 10 units of blood when he arrived at the hospital. He nearly died from internal bleeding. Alex is the sole provider for his household. He is married with a 13-year-old son.
