Odin Needs Your Help

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Ashley and I am looking for help with Mr. Odin's increasing vet bills.

A little about this spunky guy. Odin is a border collie bull terrier mix, and is approximately 9 months old. 2 weeks ago he was posted for free on a rehoming page as his previous owner did not have the time for him anymore. I went and scooped up this bundle of energy with the idea in mind that I would work with a rescue to get him into a loving home while fostering him. We bonded, he became my Velcro dog and has followed me everywhere since the moment I brought him home and I knew I wouldn't be able to let him go.

Prior to me taking him in, he had not received any of his vaccinations or his neuter. I brought him in for his first round of shots the following weekend. He did well and had been enjoying his time hanging out and playing fetch in the yard and snuggling on the couch with myself and my daughters.

Easter weekend he seemed to be under the weather and was vomiting and had diarrhea, I thought maybe he ate a toy and had a bowel obstruction. I brought him to the vet on Saturday and they did the x-ray and nothing was found he was prescribed an antibiotic and we went home. He drank some water that evening but he would not eat. Sunday I brought him in again for bloodwork. His white blood cell count is extremely low, we attempted at home care with additional medications and he seemed to be doing a little better after receiving fluids at the vet but he would still not eat or drink. Monday (April 21) morning I woke up to him being in hypovolemic shock and brought him in for emergency care. He is currently being fed through a feeding tube, and is receiving IV antibiotics with minor improvements as of Tuesday April 22nd. Until he is able to eat on his own, he is required to stay in hospital as I will not be able to get him to take the medications for at home care.

We still don't know exactly what is wrong and his vet bills are increasing hourly.

This boy has so much spunk and much love to give, being only 9 months old I really want to give him a fighting chance at life, but to do this, I really need some help with his vet bills. His first 2 visits totaled to $1,945.43 and his current bill is still climbing. Yesterday April 21 the total estimate including GST was $7855.18, but this could change as it was estimated that he could come home on the 23rd. They are unsure if this is going to be an option as he has not improved enough to be released.

If you can help in anyway, either donating here or directly to his bill at Paramount 24 HR Animal Hospital in Calgary, I would be forever grateful. I want him to live a full and exciting life but I can't do it without your help.

Thank you in advance, I will update as I am given updates from the Vet team at Paramount.
