Support Denise's Battle Against Breast Cancer

I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my childhood friend Denise, who’s not only a close friend, she is also the heart of the family. Denise would never ask for help herself, so I am doing it for her. I’m asking her friends and family to rally behind Denise.

This has been a life-altering moment for Denise and her immediate family. If you know her like I do, you know that no matter what she is going through even during this breast cancer journey she is still helping every and anyone that she can by being an ear to listen to you vent, a shoulder to cry on and/or helping financially no matter what she is currently going through.

Denise is the matriarch and the heart and soul of this family, and she's the strongest person I know, always putting others first, showing love without limits, and facing life with a quiet kind of bravery that inspires me and others every day. But now, the time is here when she must put aside that pride that makes her so strong and let all the ones she loves unconditionally reciprocate that love back to her and make this journey as easy as it can be for her.

In November 2024, Denise was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), HER2-, estrogen+, breast cancer, which caused her to have to undergo a nipple-sparing, bilateral (double) mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy and recon with expanders. While we are optimistic it's been caught fairly early, it is unfortunately an invasive type.

As some of you are aware, Denise’s medical team of doctors and oncologists and herself made the decision to have a double mastectomy. This decision was not chosen easily, due to the kind of breast cancer she was diagnosed with which is estrogen-driven and aggressive, which also caused her to have to be on an extremely aggressive chemo treatment needing two types of chemo.

Even with insurance, the costs are overwhelming, and in times such as these, money should never have to be the concern and only contribute to unnecessary stress, which is the last thing needed in a battle such as this. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will go directly toward her care and recovery. We're asking for help, whether through a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this page, to help lift some of that weight so that Denise can focus entirely on healing. We are placing our faith in God for complete healing in Denise, trusting him every step of the way. Still, the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer is heavy. We believe in Denise’s strength, her stubbornness (yes, she's got that too!), and her unshakeable love for her family and friends.
