Christina is a 21 year old young woman who was recently diagnosed with having pineal tumors in her brain that have also spread to her spine. They are cancerous and considered high grade. Cristina is receiving a course of treatment called Proton Beam Radiation Therapy as well as chemotherapy. This involves about an hour’s dose of radiation done at MGH every day for six weeks. Cristina has just begun her first round of this treatment and will need to have a few rounds of treatment.
