My name’s Kit, I’m a proud trans non-binary person living in Naarm/Melbourne. I’m very excited and fortunate to be on the waiting list to get top surgery with Surgeon Dr Cheng Lo mid next year.

Although I’ve done some work for body acceptance, top surgery is a huge positive step for me to love my body and feel more affirmed in my gender identity. I’ve wanted this surgery for a while now and I’m really excited to experience the joy and mental ease post surgery. Those who know me know that I’ve been wanting a flat chest for a long time and although I’ve tried to accept my *boobies* I feel like they don’t belong to me, so I’m so very excited to achieve my dream!

I’ve been working hard to save funds and have taken up private health insurance to achieve this, but unfortunately the costs involved are expensive with very little Medicare return. I understand that there are awful things happening in the world right now and I don’t intend to deflect from the bigger issues there. I also understand that many people are financially tight at the moment, but if anyone has the means to donate I would greatly appreciate it. Your contribution, no matter the amount will make a huge difference. The funds would be going towards my double incision top surgery with nipple grafts, related hospital costs and the recovery period of 6-8 weeks where I’ll be unable to work (for rent, groceries, bills etc). I've listed a breakdown of the costs below.

Hospital gap: $500

Private Health Insurance with AHM: $1689.60 (12 months)

Consultation Fees and Psychologist: $230 + $170 x 3 = $740

Rent (2 months): $1,978

I'm unsure what will be covered by Medicare at this point but I'm wanting to be prepared for all the above costs as they are.
