Hi, my name is Deana, and I am a family friend of the Zuniga's; Jenny has been our photographer for over nine years since the beginning of her photography business.
This past weekend, Jenny went to Urgent Care with unbearable stomach pain. They ran some tests and found out she had diverticulitis with a pocket on her small intestine that was infected and possibly abscessed.
She was then transferred to PCU at Good Sam where she continued to get worse; the doctors ran more tests and showed that right after the stomach, at the very beginning of the small intestine, there is a 4-inch laceration/abscess. The intestine bends around the pancreas, and the giant puss pocket is on the bend. Following the news, she was transported to Tacoma General, where they have a Hepatobiliary surgeon. As of now, her doctors are trying to come up with a plan to remove the abscess since it is hiding and buried on the backside of her small intestine and covered by other organs, which would cause the surgery to be very risky.
With her unexpected diagnosis and hospital stay, Jenny hasn't been able to work her photography business. Her amazing husband Raf has taken the week off to be with her in the hospital and to be there for their 3 beautiful girls. During this time, they have gone from a two-income family to now a one-income family for the time being.
If you know Jenny, you know she would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She is the most compassionate and caring person you could ever meet, and right now she shouldn't be worrying about her upcoming medical bills from this unexpected hospital stay. All her focus should be on getting rest while in the hospital.
While Raf focuses on Jenny, our family would love to help with their financial worry. Any donation amount would help tremendously. If you could please keep Jenny, Raf, Ava, Reese and Val and medical staff in your Prayers, I know they would be forever grateful.
