As most of you will know, Luke lives for adventure. From saving turtles in remote Caribbean islands and providing medical support to NGO projects in Mongolia to using his weekends to volunteer for search and rescue operations on the Yorkshire Moors or the Chiltern Hills. He loves skiing, hiking up mountains, building things, you name it. He is an inspiration to all of us on the lazier side of life!
In one of the most unfair twists life could throw at anyone, Luke was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) last year. MND is a truly brutal disease and there is no one way in which the disease progresses. There are ways it can be managed and we hope beyond hope that Luke's progression is slow and well managed.
We also believe strongly that his adventuring days are not over! Right now he is fit and determined and we want to focus on the things he CAN do. He has started to make a list of the things he feels able to do currently and we want to help support him and Kate to have the freedom do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that they can together while he feels able. We want to help them not have to think or worry about the costs of fulfilling any of these adventurous dreams, and there is likely to be additional costs to ensure he can access everything.
Some adventurous activities we know they are already hoping to be able to do include the point to point walk and a gastronomic tour of Italy! Let's help make these ideas and much more available to them.
We know that there are so many people out there who love Luke and Kate so much and would wish to support them through this journey and we thought this would be a really positive way that everyone could help. They have been through an unimaginable few months and we want to
show we are all there for them always.
Please share to anyone who knows Luke and Kate and please give generously to help the loveliest, strongest and most undeserving couple.
Thank you
