Simba

As many of you know, my fur baby Simba has been my heart for these last 10 years. He’s been my my closest friend through many of life’s blessings and extreme challenges. He has literally wiped my tears with his slobbery kisses. There is such a joy that our fur babies bring our lives. And Simba is no exception, he is one of the greatest joys in this life of mine. His goofy smile, husky banter, extreme need to hold hands (or paws), as well as be petted 24/7 is just a few of the many things I love so very much about him.

Recently, Simba developed a fist sized lump on the side of his neck. This fur momma has been determined to find out what exactly that mass is and how to help heal it. Simba was diagnosed with a tumor on his neck and then re-diagnosed with a hematoma. Both of these have been misdiagnosed and last-night the lump on his neck ruptured. On Friday 2-24 at 8:30 pm I found myself in the ER with my fur baby bleeding out, and was faced with decisions to provide the best care for Simba.

I never thought I would have to make such huge decisions for a doggy that I love so dearly. With that being said, Simba has gone under surgery to hopefully clean out this infected rupture. It’s a long road ahead for his recovery and proper diagnosis. He will be in and out of the ER for the next week to continue cleaning out this infected area and hopefully get the proper diagnoses from the right hospital now.

With that being said, this fur momma says with great humility, “I need help, from the bottom of my heart, I do.” Anything to help contribute to Simba’s ongoing hospital care helps tremendously. It’s the strangest thing to ask for this, but Simba is my baby and a huge puzzle piece to my family and he needs this more than ever. I need this more than ever.
