Help Insight Get to the ACP Conference

Insight is the student-run magazine at the University of Nevada, Reno. We are in our fifth year of publication and this year, we have hit some roadblocks. For several years Insight has run with money brought in from student fees.
This year our budget is at an all-time low. We've slashed our printing circulation from six times a semester to four, lowered our page count and have paid the minimum to our staff. All that adds up to little room for improvement and very little room to grow.
We would like to replenish our budget so we can continue to publish Insight and allow students the opportunity to publish their writing before heading out to seek careers in journalism.
Although an extra $20,000 would be great, we're also realistic. Our first item of interest would be to attend the Associated Collegiate Press conference held in San Diego this year from February 27 to March 2.
Going to the Associated Collegiate Press conference is a chance to learn from the best. As ACP says, here you can "hone your leadership, judgment, critical thinking skills and ethical sensibilities." This year's keynote speaker is Margaret Sullivan, the fifth public editor appointed by The New York Times.
We estimate it will cost us roughly $2,000 to attend the conference. Any money left over would be put back to the magazine in the form of publishing top-notch content, hiring new staff, purchasing much-needed equipment and launching the new UNRInsight.com.
