Hello,
My name is Austin Pianovski, and I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).
This diagnosis has taken a tremendous toll on me, my family, and the people I love. Along with the physical and emotional challenges, the financial burden has quickly become overwhelming.
Because of frequent doctor appointments, treatments, and days when the pain makes it impossible to work, my time in the office has been drastically reduced. My income is commission-based, so every day I miss directly impacts my ability to support my family and keep up with mounting medical expenses.
The medication I need to treat my cancer costs approximately $20,000 per month. While insurance covers a significant portion of that cost, I am still responsible for nearly $6,000 every month out of pocket. My doctors expect I will need this medication for at least 3 to 5 years, and potentially for the rest of my life depending on how treatment progresses.
Unlike most prescriptions, this medication comes through a specialty pharmacy, which makes insurance coverage and assistance programs much more complicated. In addition to the medication costs, I am also responsible for portions of the expenses related to scans, lab work, testing, procedures, and specialist visits. Those costs have already reached several thousand dollars.
I currently travel to Northwestern Medicine in Chicago approximately 4 to 7 times each month for specialist appointments. Even travel and parking expenses are adding up to hundreds of dollars every month.
I have worked incredibly hard to build the life I have today, and I am grateful for every blessing along the way. Right now, however, I am facing challenges that feel larger than I can handle alone. My greatest concern is not only my own well-being, but also ensuring that my family remains financially secure during this difficult time.
The amount I am seeking to raise would help cover one year of my out-of-pocket medication costs. I know there will be additional expenses in the years ahead, but having this first year of treatment covered would provide an incredible sense of relief and allow me to focus on what matters most, fighting this disease and being there for my family.
Any support, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us. Whether it's $1, $100, sharing this page, or simply keeping us in your prayers, every act of kindness helps.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you are able to provide.
(If you would like to make a donation to me apart from Gofundme, please feel free to Contact me Privately)
God bless.
