my story: I have now got a healthy happy 8 year old but her life didn’t start that way. Amara-may was born healthy so we thought she would sleep all the time to tied to feed. At four weeks old she was sent to the hospital as not putting weight on that’s the day we found out she had a hole in her heart - large vsd. She was put on medication as the extra blood on one side off her heart was putting extra fluid on her lungs. She was then put on a feeding tube as she was sleeping thought feeds. When amara was four months old she went to Leicester hospital for open heart surgery to put a patch over her hole. If it wasn’t for all the doctors, nurses and the support the British heart foundation gives to the hospital with money for family rooms, parent kitchens we wouldn’t have been able to stay by her side though it all.

we are lucky she had the operation when she did otherwise she wouldn’t have made it through winter if she had got ill.

we are doing a pool tournament all money goes to the British heart foundation.
