Journey to Paris 2024

My name is Jessica Woodard and I am a Track & Field athlete training for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France! I was raised in Marlton, NJ, where I graduated from Cherokee HS in 2013. I went on to attend the University of Oklahoma on a full track & field scholarship. There I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sports Management degree, as well as a Master of Human Relations. During my track & field career at OU, I was 3-time Big 12 Champion (shot put), 14-time Big 12 point-scorer, 6-time NCAA 1st Team All-American and a finalist at the 2016 Olympic Trials (shot put). Post collegiately, I went on to be a finalist in the 2022 World Championships and NACAC silver medalist. I’m currently ranked top 15 in the world!

Track & Field is one of the most participated and challenging professional sports in the world! As with all professional sports, full-time focus on training is required to compete at the highest levels world-wide. But unfortunately, Track & Field is the most underfunded sport in terms of earnings and organizational support. Most athletes are working outside of their full-time training simply to make ends meet.

This brings me to the reason I have created this post. Becoming an Olympian has been my dream since I was 9 years old. To be specific, making the team requires me being 1 of only 3 women representing Team USA in the women’s shot put in Paris, France! Yes, a daunting task – but I was always taught to believe that with God, all things are possible. I am asking for your support on my journey! The 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials will be held in Eugene Oregon from June 21-30. Between now and June, your donation will go towards several different things (including, but not limited to):

-Living Expenses: Rent, utilities, groceries, etc.

-Medical/Recovery: Physical therapy, recovery equipment, etc.

-Meet Expenses: Meet entry fees, travel expenses and accommodations (airfare, hotel, rental car/gas, food, etc.)

-Miscellaneous: implements (shot puts of various weights), competition clothing, shoes (throwing and training), equipment (chalk, tape)
