This is Zachary (Zack) Scanlan and I’m proud to say he’s my son. It’s hard to imagine that just 6 months ago, Zack was going to college at Las Positas in Livermore, CA, and working at Chick Fila, planning his future and saving up money to buy an ultimate gaming laptop, living his life as a normal young adult.
Zack started having severe hip and leg pain which eventually traveled into his foot. A large tumor mass was found on his sacrum and he was diagnosed with rare Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer on May 25, 2018, right after his 20th birthday. By the time he was diagnosed the cancer had already metastasized from his sacrum to his lungs and into his pelvis.

Zack is facing the battle of his life. My son Zachary is a warrior!
Zachary has permanent nerve damage in his right leg and foot and he will require extensive physical therapy. He has made great progress with chemotherapy and radiation treatment. We do not know what the future will bring. Right now we need to get through 14 chemotherapy treatments and lung radiation. Zachary just completed 30 sessions of pelvis radiation treatment successfully!

Many unexpected expenses, overnight stays, parking fees, meals at the hospital, and travel expenses tolls, fastrak, gas, etc) have piled up. There are many more unforeseen surprise costs involved.

Please follow my Facebook page and GFM for additional updates on Zachary’s progress.
Please share this GFM with friends and family. Thank You. We really need to reach our goal. He’s going to beat this cancer!
