The Bridge at 211 in Salem Massachusetts is a new non-profit organization that is housed in the former First Universalist Church. There is a food pantry housed in the building as well as the Salem Scottish Dancers. Many support groups call this place home and we hope to make it better for them as well!
One of the areas that The Bridge at 211 is supporting is the performing arts. The North Shore of Massachusetts has a reputable arts scene and is seeped in history. Neverland Theatre in their 25th year has moved to this new space and is set to have their first performance this November. With art and music programs in the public school systems dwindling it is so important to support community arts, remember EARTH without ART is just EH!
This new space is beautiful and Neverland is happy to call The Bridge at 211 their new home. That being said, there are many things that the space could use to be a functioning Performing Arts center; chairs for an audience being the most important. Stage extensions will need to be re-built to fit this space and a curtain is always handy to have for a theatrical performance. Even office supplies; such as white boards and desks are needed to utilize the space for any groups that use it. All groups will benefit from any funds raised in this campaign, this is not to support Neverland Theatre, but Neverland is using this tool to help support The Bridge at 211.
Because Neverland is the first new enterprise to join The Bridge at 211, we want to show our commitment to the organization by spearheading this Go Fund Me project. Neverland’s goal is to help The Bridge at 211 to become a premier Performing Arts space and add to the community with the programs that are currently offered and encourage new creative enterprises to join the organization.
