Help Youssef and His Family Survive in Gaza

Hello everyone,

I'm writing to once again thank you for your unwavering support over the past few months, which has been crucial for Youssef and his family’s survival in Gaza. We are beyond grateful.

As the situation continues to deteriorate, and considering the needs of a family of eight — including two children aged 12 and 15 — as well as the fact that Youssef and his siblings are all striving to continue their studies despite the circumstances, we have made the decision to increase the fundraiser's target to 44,000 euros.

With the borders completely closed, prices are at an all-time high.

Below, you can find a cost breakdown to help you better understand the needs they must cover at the moment:

- Electricity: 115 USD per month. For 6 months: 690 USD

- Hygiene supplies: 250 USD per month. For 6 months: 1,500 USD

- Food and water: 2,000 USD per month. For 6 months: 12,000 USD

- Medicine for his father's diabetes: 150 USD per month. For 6 months: 900 USD

- University education for Youssef and his sister: 2,115 USD

School education for three of Youssef's siblings: 125 USD per month. For 6 months: 750 USD

- Clothing: 2,500 USD. The price of clothes has risen dramatically in Gaza, and they barely have any belongings left.

- Emergency fund in case of a new evacuation order: 3,000 USD

In addition to these expenses, the transfer fee for sending the funds to Youssef and allowing him to withdraw them in Gaza is approximately 35%.

Considering all these aspects, and to ensure their survival for at least the next six months, we realistically need to increase the fundraiser’s target.

My name is Laura, I'm based in Paris, and I'm fundraising for my good friend Youssef Al-Jabary and his family, who are currently trapped in the Gaza Strip. I’ve set up the fundraiser for them as they’re unable to do it themselves because of their location in Gaza.

They are living in a tent in the south of Gaza under extremely difficult conditions, unable to afford any basic necessities. Now with winter approaching, they are also facing cold weather, rain, and flooding in their tent.

They're a family of 8 people, and while their ultimate goal is to leave Gaza, this is currently impossible due to border closures and the high costs involved. Therefore, we are raising funds to help them buy basic necessities such as food, hygiene items, and essential supplies to survive through the winter months.

Prices in Gaza are rising daily due to ongoing displacements and border closures. Affording food and basic necessities is extremely difficult at the moment.

The donation funds will be sent directly to Youssef via PayPal, as this is one of the few ways to transfer funds to Gaza at the moment. If you're able to donate, even a small amount will make a difference and will impact his and his family’s situation.
