Hello I’m Santaclauslondon (@Santaclauslondon on Instagram ) and I’m raising funds for my friends Cora, her wife Helen and their little family, Oliver 3 years old and Patrick 1 year old.

This Mother’s Day, Cora and Helen faced every parent’s worst nightmare. Their beautiful 3 year old son, Oliver, was rushed to A&E after a week of being unwell, where they received the devastating diagnosis, that Oliver has high-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

A primary tumour was found in Oliver’s brain and they have since discovered secondaries across various organs in his abdomen.

As a result of the tumour in his brain, Oliver has permanently lost vision in his right eye. He has also developed diabetes insipidus (a type of diabetes that is a rare and life long condition) and an adrenal insufficiency.

Brave little Oliver is currently undergoing some of the most intense chemotherapy treatment available. He has been an inpatient at Leeds Children’s Hospital for the past two months, with no timeline for when he will be able to return home.

Before Oliver’s diagnosis, Cora worked full time while Helen stayed at home to care for their two boys. Since Oliver’s diagnosis Cora stopped work immediately and currently has no end in sight, not until Oliver has recovered and is able to leave the hospital and go home. Both Cora and Helen are having to juggle the challenge of one parent being by Oliver’s bedside, around the clock 24/7, as well as one of them being there and caring for their 1 year old Patrick.

One can only begin to imagine the immense emotional and physical toll they’re under as parents, as well as still having to carry the financial weight of everyday life, along with the financial burden of their monthly bills.
