Ron's New Kidney!

Donation protected
Who Is Ron?

He has a heart of gold. Ron has been taking in couch surfers (travelers) since 2009. He volunteers at his local braille institute. Even though he is visually impaired and has kidney issues- he does not let it slow him down.

Why Does Ron Need Our Help?

The good news is that he has finally been approved for a kidney transplant!  Now here's the scoop, his sole source of income for almost 7 years has been permanent disability. He was approved for disability due to being visually impaired (aka legally blind) and his kidney disease. He is currently on dialysis 3 days a week and, as most of you are aware, it is an extremely debilitating and painful process.  Unfortunately, his insurance will fall very short of covering the medical expenses=

-One week in the hospital
-In-home health care
-Lifetime of anti-rejection medication

Any donation is GREATLY appreciated. Please spread the word to your friends and family. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank YOU.

From Ron's Friends:
Barbara Bacon:
It has been my privilege to have Ronnie Marr as a very dear friend for over 30 years. Although Ronnie is finally on the wait list for a transplant, no one can predict when he will be scheduled for the surgery. Until then, he will continue to endure dialysis procedures. However his financial needs are immediate! The studio apt he has lived in for many years, currently depletes his monthly income by 70% and he is due for another increase in May. Current wait lists for more affordable housing can be as long as 5 years and some lists are closed until further notice. In spite of these adversities, Ronnie’s courage and sense of humor continue to be a source of inspiration to everyone who knows him.

Evan Bartlett:
Ron has been a dear friend of mine for a year or so. He has had lots of ups and downs with his health. This new kidney will allow him to be more active. There is always pro's and con's. The con is the insurance company will not be covering all the medical costs. This saddens me, because I look up to Ron. He has helped so many people in his life. His good friend Barbara and I decided to start a Go Fund Me page to help him with his costs. Every bit will help. Hope you have a great day.

Nancy A:
This is a friend of my cousin. The more I get to know him the more amazed I am by his courage, kindness and Christlike attitude. Even though he is nearly blind and has dialysis three times a week he always has a smile for you. He takes public transportation to and from his appointments often while feeling the effects from his treatments. He is a friend to all who meet him and a kind word for all. Please help him if you can.
