This is Robert and he has been living with epilepsy for 15 years. A traumatic car accident on August 15, 2010 would change his life forever. He recently underwent an incredibly invasive brain surgery called BILATERAL PLACEMENT OF STEREOTACTIC FRAME INSERTION OF INTRACRANIAL STEREOTACTIC DEPTH ELECTRODES FOR EPILEPSY MONITORING BILATERAL SIDES to monitor the seizure activity with depth electrodes to more finely pinpoint where the seizures start and how the seizures spread. It will be in total a 3 week long operation where Robert will reside in a hospital for the entire time. The recovery time for this surgery is 2 months at home with very limited mobility. After he has recovered from this initial operation there will be another even more invasive brain surgery. This first operation however is the first step in the journey to give Robert his life back.
